Moroccan Neat Millet Burger
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cooked millet
- 1 cup cooked chickpeas, mashed
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper adjust to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or a gluten-free alternative
- Oil for frying
- Burger buns and your choice of toppings
Instructions:
Put the cooked millet, mashed chickpeas, chopped red bell pepper, onion, garlic, and fresh parsley in a large bowl
Ground cumin, ground coriander, ground paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper should all be added to the mix
Make sure to mix the ingredients together well
Add the all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs and mix until the mixture sticks together and is easy to shape into patties
You can add more bread crumbs or flour if the mixture is too wet
Make burger patties out of the mixture that are the size and thickness you want
Put oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat
Carefully place the burger patties in the hot oil
Cook for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy
Take the patties out of the pan and place them on paper towels to drain off any extra oil
You can toast the burger buns in a pan or the oven until they get a little brown
Put a patty on the bottom bun of your Moroccan Neat Millet Burger and then add your favorite toppings
You can put on avocado, lettuce, tomato slices, vegan mayo, or anything else you like
Put the top bun on top of the burger and serve it hot
