Coffee Rubbed Burgers with Dr. Pepper BBQ Sauce
Ingredients:
- 4 burger patties 1/4 pound each
- 2 tablespoons ground coffee
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup Dr
- Pepper
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices for garnish
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix together the ground coffee, brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to make the coffee rub
Rub the coffee rub evenly onto both sides of each burger patty
Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat
Grill the coffee-rubbed burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness
While the burgers are cooking, in a small saucepan, combine the Dr
Pepper and BBQ sauce
Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute or two until lightly browned
When the burgers are cooked, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover for a minute to melt the cheese
To assemble the burgers, place lettuce leaves on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a coffee-rubbed burger patty
Top with tomato slices and red onion slices
Drizzle the Dr
Pepper BBQ sauce over the burger patties, then cover with the top half of the bun
Serve your Coffee Rubbed Burgers with Dr
Pepper BBQ Sauce hot, and enjoy
